Chai Tea

"This recipe is from taste of home and I believe I made it over 10 times last holiday season for guests & gatherings - everywhere I went it was a huge hit! I would cook it over the stove and then put it in a crock pot set on warm to keep it warm (Just remember to stir it often). I recommend using decaf tea bags if you are serving this to guests since not everyone does well with caffeine. This is so easy and sure to please!! Update: If you venture from the directions of this recipe, it will not turn out correctly, I have never had this taste of strong tea that a reviewer described, the cardamon is the main flavor of this and when used correctly makes this recipe absolutely delicious. Please don't judge this recipe after one bad review who did not follow the exact ingredients and directions completely as described. I don't recommend putting in two cinnamon sticks, I have found leaving one in for a longer period of time produces a very strong cinnamon taste, that does not compliment the authentic chia taste that this recipe produces. Please try this and enjoy it, it truly is amazing!"

  2. Fabulous is the only way I can describe this recipe!

  3. Lovely recipe! I used green tea which made it very nice. Reminds me of what I've had from more expensive tea bags. I will definitely be making this in the future. Thanks for sharing! Made for ZWT6 Queens of Quisine!!

  4. Wow, this is good. I've tried a few chai recipes, and this is the first one I've really, really liked. The cardamom and ginger really come through, with the cinnamon and clove in the background. It's just perfect. I cooked mine on the stovetop as directed, then let it cool and enjoyed it iced. It's just too hot outside for hot tea. But I'm sure I'll try it hot this winter. Thanks so much for sharing.

  5. Terrific Chai, perfectly blended spice flavours for my taste. Easy to prepare, there's just something so very calming and pampering about making a pot of Chai! Thanks for posting. Made for Whine and Cheese Gang ZWT 6 :)

Tweaks

  1. This Chai is nice and sweet, and lightly spiced. I did not find the tea to be too strong as the other reviewer did. This made a nice treat after dinner. I used cream instead of milk so it was very rich. Made for ZWT6.

There are a lot of things I love about life, my family, my faith in God, my church family, my friends. I also enjoy so many hobbies. Working as a nurse means I work 3, 12 hour shifts a week and have 4 days off! Which gives me a lot of time to do the things I love like cooking, scrapbooking, photography and just recently herb/flower gardening! My family includes my adorable and amazing husband and my 13 year old step-son (who proves to be a challange to this new mom but we love him soo!!!) The newest love of my life is the beautiful little husky sitting on my lap in this picture. She is 5 months old and an absolute joy to our life! I also just started a new cooking blog called 'Make it homemade.' I believe we can all save a lot of money, if we use our skills to make frequently store-bought items at home in our own kitchens! Besides, homemade just taste better!
