I made this last night for dinner when neighbors joined us. None of us has ever had Butter Chicken so we had nothing to compare it to. There were four of us and reviews went from 3 to 5 so I gave the recipe and average of 4. This was easy enough for me to cook while visiting with everyone in the kitchen and there was a lot of surprise when the cashews came out. It was served with brown rice, a green salad and ginger iced tea. I'll make this again! P.S. No tomato paste in mine.

This was a nice easy recipe though I didn't really think it tasted much like an authentic butter chicken. I added the tomato paste since I like a thicker sauce but it ended up looking curdled so I had to add chicken broth to thin it out a bit.
Delicious! We really enjoyed this recipe. Great flavor. We ran out of milk so I used low sodium chicken broth. I served it with Indian Ghee Rice. Thank you for the recipe. Made for Went to the Market tag.
Very good. I didn't have ground cardoman so used garam masala and tossed in a few whole green cardomons to the pot. I omitted the tomato paste since I find it often overpowers or lessen the spice flavour. We like our butter chicken a bit spicier so next time I will add some green chilis to the mix. This was absolutely fantastic. I can see why you call it butter chicken, the nuts give it that silky texture. I love it. So easy to make to once you pull out your spice box, gentle but full flavored. Served with another fantastic recipe, Lemon Rice that i think is wrongly named, it should be "lemon rice with aromatics" that is designed for curries. Hidden gem, posted in 2007 and not reviewed until tonight..perfect for this dish or any other indian dish.
